Currently Tango supports Android, iPhone 3GS or higher, iPod touch fourth-generation or newer, all iPads, Windows XP/Vista/7 PCs [System Requirements], and select Windows Phone devices. A Tango call requires both sides to have Tango installed and registered along with an internet connection on the devices being used. We hope to make Tango available on more devices and platforms so keep checking back for our latest news and updates by following us on Facebook, Twitter and our Support Center!
Occasionally there are issues with specific devices and Tango, please check our Known Problems List to see if there are any current issues with your device.
On mobile devices, Tango utilizes "Push Notifications" and "Background Data" therefore Tango does not have to be open in order to receive calls. If you are unsure if these are enabled on your device, this article should help.
On PC's, ensure that Tango is running. If Tango is not running, you must launch it from the start menu or the desktop icon in order to receive calls.
For more information on how to turn on "Push Notifications" or "Background Data", please choose your platform:

Read the guide below to find out how to update to the latest version of Tango.
Choose your platform.
Tango uses your data network to place calls and works over 3G, 4G, and WiFi. Using WiFi to place calls is absolutely free. When you make calls over the 3G or 4G network, your charges will be based on the data plan you have set up with your mobile provider. Tango does not use your monthly minutes so there are no extra fees or international charges when calling a friend down the street or a family member in another country.
Currently, Android and Apple iOS devices can send and receive Tango Surprises. We hope to bring this feature to Windows PC and Windows Phones in the future!

If your Tango registration is failing, this could be due to a number of reasons.
Some of which are:
- Our server not being able to receive your registration information.
- Your provider is blocking access to Tango. For a list of providers that our users have reported are blocking them from accessing Tango see - Countries and Providers Blocking Tango
To resolve this issue, please try these steps:
1. Please ensure you have a valid 3G/4G Internet connection on your phone when registering; you should also try registering over WiFi.
2. If you are unable to register while connected to your WiFi at home, please make sure Tango is not being blocked by your firewall or router settings. Please make sure the following ports are being forwarded in your router settings.
- TCP 80,443, 5223, 6222
- UDP 1818, 3478-3578, 49000-65535
3. If the issue persists, it is possible that your provider is blocking you from accessing Tango. Some mobile providers and ISP's (Internet Service Providers) may be blocking access to VOIP, P2P and Streaming applications. If this is the case, this will affect your ability to Tango. Unfortunately there is no way for us to avoid your provider’s settings. The best course of action would be to contact your provider, ask them why they are blocking Tango and politely ask them to please stop!
You can add your friends to your Favorites list by accessing the Contact details page. Choose your platform.
If your friends are not able to view your video messages, this could be due to a number of reasons.
Some of which are:
- You or your friends are not using the latest version of Tango
- Your friends are using a PC or a Windows Phone without a registered email address
- Your friend's device does not support Video Messages [List of supported devices]
1. In order to send and receive Tango Video messages please make sure you and your friends are using the latest version of Tango.
- To download the latest version of Tango for Apple devices, please click here
- To download the latest version of Tango for Android devices, please click here
2. If your calling partner is using a PC or a Windows Phone, they will need to register with their email address in order to receive your Video Message to their inbox.
If you have a plan that limits your data consumption, then on average, approximately 2GB of data will be used if you make 450 minutes of video calls over 3G or 4G. Or connect over Wi-Fi for free calls wherever you are!
Yes, Tango does support Google Voice numbers so feel free to use them for your registration!
However, Google Voice numbers cannot receive our verification text messages so if you switch devices you will need to contact our support team in order to unlock your account by submitting a support request.
We have good news for you! Even without a front facing camera, you should still be able to send video from your rear camera to your friends. We have seen people think up very imaginative ways to Tango face-to-face with their friends without a front facing camera, ranging from Tangoing in front of a mirror to using special mirror stands (http://tango.vainworks.com or http://iSnapMe.com/tango) to reflect their camera forwards without having to turn the phone around.

Much like a traditional phone, anyone that has your Tango registered telephone number will be able to add you to their address book and call you on Tango. This is also true for your Tango registered email address. Removing your email from your Tango profile will only allow people who have your phone number to see you in Tango.
Tango currently supports Bluetooth on the iPhone. Our engineers are working hard on developing Bluetooth capability for Android and Windows Phone devices, hope to release it in a future update. You can get updates and vote on this feature request by clicking here.
As per Apple's App Store Terms and Conditions all sales are non-refundable. We do not have the ability to issue refunds. See - http://www.apple.com/legal/itunes/us/terms.html for additional information.
